As a mother of four boys, their safety is my biggest concern. As parents we teach our children right from wrong and how to cross the street safely. We must also ensure they understand the safest way to get out of the house if there is a fire. Talk to your children. Find out what they would do if they heard the smoke alarm --- then play "The Great Escape". Let this game help you teach your children to stay calm and exit the house safely. As the insurer for over 833,000 homes, The Co-operators is committed to providing safety and security to Canadians and their communities. Statistics show that in your lifetime you will be affected by fire three times, either through personal experiences or through the experiences of family and friends. Make sure your family is prepared. Make a home escape plan for your house and practice it with your children - it could save their lives. Kathy Bardswick
